Three More To Retire in Parkland School District

More than 30 teachers and staff in the Parkland School District have announced plans to retire at the end of the school year.

The Parkland School Board approved three more retirements at its meeting Tuesday.

Retiring at the end of the school year are:

  • Faye L. Richelderfer, a Title I assistant at Kernsville Elementary School, after 35 years.
  • Patricia Diemand, a teaching assistant at Ironton Elementary School, after 10 years.

Also retiring is:

  • Rachel Galloway, Title I assistant at Fogelsville Elementary School, effective Feb. 10.

More than 30 teachers and staff at the end of the school year.

The school board also approved the hiring of three people:

  • Amanda C. Keller is working as an ESL teacher at Fogelsville Elementary School at an annual salary of $48,671, prorated, effective Jan. 2.
  • Mary Kelly will work as a mentor for Amanda Keller at Fogelsville Elementary School through the end of the 2011-2012 school year, at the contracted stipend.
  • Corey Andrews will be the girls lacrosse assistant varsity coach at for the remainder of the 2011-2012 school year, at the contracted stipend. Andrews replaces Lynne Elphick, who resigned.
