Evaluations Set for South Parkland Youth Association Baseball Leagues

Coaches are needed at most levels. Plus, Parkland High School coaches will hold a Feb. 26 baseball clinic for players in grades 3 through 7.

The South Parkland Youth Association is seeking baseball players ages 9 through 16 to try out for spots on travel teams in the competitive Lehigh Valley summer leagues.

Here is list of scheduled evaluations, broken down by age group with times, locations and schedules. Coaches are needed at most levels for the 2011 season. Interested coaches can download the application form from the SPYA.org website.

Parkland High School head baseball coach Tony Galucy, assisted by other Trojan coaches and players, will hold a youth baseball instructional clinic for players in grades 3 through 7 on Sat., Feb. 26, at the high school's auxiliary gym.

Cost is $25. The grade 3 and 4 clinic runs from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The grade 5 through 7 clinic is from 5 p.m to 7 p.m.

Finally, South Parkland baseball players who want to participate in the Upper/Lower Macungie League must attend a clinic on Saturday, March 26.
