Parkland Routs Easton, 42-0, in District 11 Championship

Kareem Williams rushes for 4 touchdowns and more than 300 yards for Trojans.

Kareem Williams carried the ball for more than 300 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Parkland Trojans to a dominating 42-0 District 11 Quad-A championship win over the Easton Red Rovers on Friday night.

Williams opened the scoring with a 96-yard run with 1:14 left in the first quarter, tying a Trojans record held by Austin Scott. A block on the outside by receiver Ryan Hunt sprung Williams along the sideline.

By the time the first quarter ended, Williams had more yards rushing than Easton had allowed to any running back all season. He would add touchdown runs of 65, 22 and 61 yards in the third quarter.

The Trojans defense stifled the Red Rovers offense and outplayed them on special teams as well, capping the night’s scoring with a 75-yard punt return touchdown by Eli Redmond.

Redmond also caught a touchdown pass—an entertaining 28-yard catch, run, spin and juke to the end zone with a little more than 5 minutes left in the first half.

With the win the 12-1 Trojans go on to face 10-2 St. Joseph’s Prep in a state Quad-A quarterfinal game next weekend.

Despite the loss, the 10-3 Red Rovers still have one more game to look forward to—their traditional Thanksgiving Day game with cross-river rivals Philipsburg.
