At Cetronia Ambulance, Teens Learn Emergency Care

Cetronia's Youth Programs are designed to offer hands-on experience that is educational and fun.

recently hosted a graduation ceremony for 12 teenagers who participated in its Emergency Medical Responder course. 

The 48-hour training course was offered to 14- to 18-year-olds who have an interest in pursuing healthcare and emergency services as a profession. Students learned advanced first aid, CPR, AED and oxygen administration, according to a prepared release. 

After successfully completing the course, students were certified as Emergency Responders.

Youngsters who graduate from the course are encouraged to join Cetronia Ambulance as part of the Teen Associate Program, which will allow them to continue their medical education and gain hands-on experience in pre-hospital and emergency department care. Cetronia Ambulance has partnered with Sacred Heart Hospital on the initiative. 

Youngsters are given an opportunity to ride as a third person on Cetronia’s advanced and basic life support ambulance, shadow emergency department personnel at Sacred Heart Hospital and interact with patients on medical and surgical units, the release said.
