Viewfinder: March of Dimes Annual March for Babies

Thousands flocked to Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom in South Whitehall for three-mile walk

The Pennsylvania Chapter of the March of Dimes hosted their annual fundraising walk, "March for Babies," on Sunday. Despite cool temperatures and blustery winds, more than 5,500 participants were in high spirits as they converged on in South Whitehall for the three-mile trek.

Walkers raised more than $400,000 in pledges to fund research in premature births, birth defects and infant mortality and to provide community services for both moms and babies. According to the group's website, more than half a million babies are born prematurely in the United States each year. The "walkathon" is its largest fundraising event.
