CNN Host Piers Morgan Visits Valley: Your Weekend

Also, go ghost hunting in Alburtis, night hiking in Emmaus or explore the visual arts in Bethlehem.

CNN prime-time host Piers Morgan comes to the Lehigh Valley Sunday night for a discussion about his career, his passionate campaign for gun control and his new book (based on his diary), Shooting Straight: Guns, Gays, God and George Clooney.

The ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem plays host to the 7:30 talk that will also feature Today Show contributor and psychiatrist Dr. Gail Saltz. Tickets are $10, $8 for students and seniors and free for ArtsQuest members.

  • Parkland Library's new book group for adults will discuss The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, Saturday at 2 p.m.
  • Feel like taking a hike at night? You can do that Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Pool Wildlife Sanctuary in Emmaus. $3 gets you in for the hike, stories around the campfire, hot chocolate and s'mores. Bring a flashlight or headlamp.
  • Learn about ghost hunting from the Ghost Hunters 
    Incorporated paranormal investigative team
     Saturday evening at 7 p.m. at the Alburtis Lockridge Historical Society Museum, 407 Franklin Street, Alburtis. This is a free event, but not recommended for kids under 12 unless they have parental accompaniment. 
  • Dynamic filmmakers from throughout the region will be spotlighted during the third-annual Greater Lehigh Valley Filmmaker Festival, which concludes Saturday at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks’ Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas in Bethlehem. Fifteen different films and two web series will be showcased over the course of five screening blocks. Admission for each block is $5 for the public and $4 for ArtsQuest Members. Tickets are on sale now at www.artsquest.org/film and 610-332-3378; they’ll also be available at the ArtsQuest Center Box Office.
  • The fourth-annual Olympus InVision Photo Festival continues through Sunday at the Banana Factory and SteelStacks in Bethlehem. The festival features presentations by renowned photographers such as Eugene Richards, Olivia Bee, Chase Jarvis and Stephen Wilkes, as well as dynamic photography exhibits including the Pennsylvania Photographers Competition, InVision College Photography Contest Exhibit and the work of the acclaimed photographers who are part of the Olympus Visionary Program.
