Dorney Park Owner Had 2012 Record-High Revenue

Dorney Park's parent company reported Tuesday that it had record revenues in 2012, thanks in part to the South Whitehall destination's strong performance.

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom's parent company said Tuesday that the company had a record year in 2012, with Dorney Park and four of its other parks "leading the way." Dinosaurs Start Arriving at Dorney Park

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom has begun installing the Dinosaurs Alive! attraction for the new season. The park posted the information -- and a video of T Rex being assembled -- on its Facebook page. It said T Rex will be located in the entrance plaza to greet patrons.  The new park attraction is expected to include a series of stationary and automated dinosaur figures -- some 37 in all, according to information disclosed at a South Whitehall commissioners' meeting last September.  Most of the prehistoric figures are expected to be less than 16 feet in height, but there is also expected to be two 35- to 40-foot dinosaurs. The dinosaurs will be viewed by patrons traveling through a themed walking path approximately 2,100 feet long in a 3.…

Year in Review in South Whitehall

Here are the top 10 South Whitehall stories in 2011 that generated the most interest from Patch readers.

Facing $6.4 million in budget cuts, Parkland administrators recommended in April laying off people in 60 staff and teaching positions, many through attrition.  4. …
