South Whitehall Man Busted for Meth Lab in Home

Steven Brad Kresge, 39, of 4703 Fair Drive, was charged after police allegedly discovered an active meth lab in his home.

  From the Office of the District Attorney: A South Whitehall Township man has been charged with operating a methamphetamine laboratory out of his residence, where police seized an assault rifle with a loaded magazine, chemicals, packaging materials and other items used to manufacture methamphetamine. Steven Brad Kresge, 39, of 4703 Fair Drive, was charged the evening of Jan. 17, after police entered the residence, which is close to other occupied residences, and discovered an active methamphetamine lab. Kresge is charged with a felony of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, misdemeanors of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and felonies of causing or risking a catastrophe and …

It's Amateur Hour for Meth Makers

Wonder what your neighbors are cooking up? It could be something extremely dangerous.

It’s amateur hour in the methamphetamine business with police seeing a dangerous trend as more mom-and-pop-type drug labs spring up in the Lehigh Valley. One meth maker was busted living near a high school - in a home she shared with her two young girls. A local teacher is accused of selling meth. And meth cooking gone wrong filled a room with chemical-smelling smoke at a family-friendly hotel in a busy shopping area. The alleged perpetrator was charged with risking a catastrophe, among other crimes.  Two detectives who lead drug task forces for Lehigh and Northampton counties agree that more dealers are making their own meth.
