Parkland Mourns John R. Ritter, 62, Devoted Teacher [Obituary]

John R. Ritter, 62, of Neffs died Tuesday.

John R. Ritter, 62, of Neffs died April 16, 2013 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, where he received the very best of care for complications related to a bone marrow transplant for cancer. John was born and raised as one of a family that settled in the Lehigh Valley in 1731. Clarence and Arline Ritter, his parents, eventually moved to Allentown’s West End where he attended Muhlenberg Elementary School and Raub Junior High and graduated from Allen High School in 1968.  He was proud of his Pennsylvania Dutch heritage, was a student of his family’s history and a believer in the values he was taught. He attended Amherst College in Massachusetts, and later graduated from East Stroudsburg University. He worked at various …

Former member of the Woodlawn Fire Co. and shop foreman at Supreme Auto Body for 41 years, Edward 'Tim' Tyler, 76, died.

Edward “Tim” C. Tyler, 76, of Orefield passed away Sunday Feb. 3, in his home. He was the husband of Zandra A. (Grello) Tyler, they were married 24 years. Born in Allentown he was the son of the late Elmer Tyler and Lucy (Fonzone) Saylor. Edward was a member of Jordan U.C.C. in Allentown. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a shop foreman at Supreme Auto Body for 41 years retiring in 1998. He was a member of Woodlawn Fire Company. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. George W. Rausch, 79, of Emmaus passed away Friday Jan. 25, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Janice I (Radler) Rausch, they were married 41 years.   Janice D. Schweikert, 57, of Whitehall, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC with her fiancé Joseph E. Simko by her side. She was the daughter of the late Dorothy (DaShields) Babchalk.Before retiring this past October, she worked in the accounting department for Kelly Mgt., Emmaus. Paul J. Siegfried, Jr., 79 of Alburtis passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in his home. He was the husband of Barbara Ann M. (Epting) Siegfried. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on April 18, 2012. Born in Alburtis, he was a son of the late Paul J. Sr. and Edna M. (Lohrman) Siegfried. With his father he owned and operated Siegfried’s Garage. He also worked as an estimator for Bally Case and Cooler for 20 years. He retired from  Lutron Electronics in 1998, but returned and has worked part time until recently. He was a member of Zion Lehigh Lutheran Church in Alburtis where he served as a councilman and choir member. William L. Damiano, 77, founder of Premise Maid Candies in Breinigsville died Saturday in the Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown after battling Parkinson’s Disease for 29 years. He was the husband of Frances (Cannariato) Damiano. They were married 54 years in October. Born in Nesquehoning, he was a son of the late Anthony and Carmella (Cardinale) Damiano. Bill was a professional and chemical engineer for Air Products and Chemicals Inc. Trexlertown. He earned a master of business administration degree from Lehigh University. Luther W. Fritzinger, 93, of Breinigsville died Nov. 1, 2012, of hypothermia in his home.

Luther W. Fritzinger, 93, formerly of Allentown, died Nov. 1 in the garage of his residence in Breinigsville. He was the husband of the late Claire G. (Schuler) Fritzinger. Born in Lehighton, he was a son of the late George W. and Effie (Doll) Fritzinger. He was a machinist at Bethlehem Steel during World War II and a truck driver for H.J. Heinz and the U.S. Postal Service. In his retirement he worked for Plantique. He was a member of Zion’s United Church of Christ, Allentown. Luther was a member of the peacetime Army from 1937-1940.
