South Whitehall Police report they arrested a man for a fight that broke out after a road rage incident when a driver almost hit a pedestrian with his car. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
South Whitehall Police arrested Frederick John Schiller, 24, of Macungie, after a bloody fight and an apparent road rage incident on Oct. 12 in front of Foo Joy restaurant on Hamilton Boulevard. According to police: At 8:23 p.m. two female witnesses told officers at the scene they witnessed Schiller "driving recklessly" in a blue Dodge Dart in the parking lot of Foo Joy, 3229 Hamilton Blvd. The witnesses said Schiller was driving too fast and squealing his tires when he almost hit a pedestrian in front of Foo Joy. The pedestrian yelled an expletive and Schiller stopped his car, jumped out and started yelling back. Schiller then punched the pedestrian in the face and "took him to the ground." Police say a South Whitehall man hosted a party near Parkland High School where guests were shooting at targets in the back yard with handguns and rifles.
South Whitehall Police last week charged township resident Craig Graham Jacobus, 60, after a bullet from a gun allegedly fired during a summer party in his back yard struck a nearby home. Court records say that Jacobus was hosting a party on June 30 at his home at 3710 Pheasant Hill Drive with about 40 guests ranging in age from "infant to elderly." Guests were using metal can lids and watermelons as shooting targets, the records say. Police found a number of rounds of shotgun ammunition, a large number of expended casings from a 9mm handgun and a high-powered rifle at Jacobus' home. Police say they stopped a driver on suspicion of driving drunk and found he had an outstanding warrant from California. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
A 29-year-old California man stopped by South Whitehall Police on suspicion of driving drunk had a warrant out for his arrest in California, South Whitehall police say. Anthony Swink, 29, of 363 Inglewood, Los Angeles, was stopped by police on Oct. 10 at Lincoln Avenue and Hamilton Boulevard. According to court records, Swink was stopped at a traffic light and didn't move when the light changed. An officer in a car behind him said he honked several times to alert him. Records say that after several attempts Swink moved forward and the officer immediately turned on his emergency lights. The report says Swink continued east on Hamilton Boulevard for four more blocks before turning into Comfort Suites. Police said they identified Swink with …

South Whitehall Police reported a hit-and-run accident on Cedar Crest Boulevard near Pennsylvania Street at 5:43 p.m. Oct. 2. The car that was hit had minor damage and police report that a small, dark-colored car had left the scene by the time they arrived.
