South Whitehall Police said someone entered some trucks parked on Hausman Road and stole loose change.

The following information was provided by the South Whitehall Township Police Department. Theft from Vehicle—Loose change stolen from trucks parked in 1000 block of Hausman Road; reported March 16, police said. Criminal Mischief—Rocks thrown at a car in the 1900 block of Walbert Avenue; reported March 15, police said. Tobacco Violation—Juvenile cited at Parkland High School for tobacco violation; reported March 21, police said.

Meat, Tractor and Jewelry Stolen, Police Say

A tractor was reported stolen from a property on Hausman Road, South Whitehall police said.

The following information was provided by the South Whitehall Township Police Department. Retail Theft—Unspecified cut of meat was reported stolen Wednesday from the Giant Food Store, 3070 W. Tilghman St., police said. Theft—A wallet and cell phone were reported stolen Tuesday from LA Fitness, police said. Theft—A tractor was reported stolen Monday from the 1300 block of Hausman Road, police said. Theft—Jewelry was reported stolen Sunday from a home in the 1500 block of Red Maple Lane, police said.

Wallet, iPhone Reported Stolen, Police Say

A wallet, iPhone and unauthorized charges on a debit card were among the items stolen recently in South Whitehall, police said.

The following information was provided by the South Whitehall Township Police Department. Theft—Wallet reported taken March 5 from Aetna, 1515 Pond Road, police said. Theft—iPhone reported taken March 1 from Parkland High School, police said. Theft—Unauthorized charges on a debit card were reported by a resident in the 500 block of Chelsea Lane, police said.

Man Stopped For Speeding Faces Drug Charges, Police Say

Steven Alexander Santa, 18, of South Whitehall, allegedly had marijuana in a backpack in his car, police said.

A South Whitehall man who was stopped by police for driving above the speed limit on Parkway Road is facing multiple drug charges after police allegedly found marijuana and packaging materials in a backpack in his car. Steven Alexander Santa, 18, of 2307 Coolidge St., was driving his red Volkswagen Golf GTI at 44 mph on the 700 block of Parkway, which has a speed limit of 25 mph, according to the affidavit. South Whitehall Township Police Officer Stacey E. Siwik wrote in the affidavit of probable cause that Santa appeared nervous and confused and she could smell marijuana while she spoke to him during the traffic stop, which took place at about 12:25 p.m. Friday. $1,000 Worth of Electronics Stolen From Staples, Police Say

Several electronic devices were stolen from the Staples at Tilghman Square Shopping Center, South Whitehall Township police said.

South Whitehall Township police are investigating the theft of several electronic devices at Staples at the Tilghman Square Shopping Center. The devices were reported missing Feb. 27 and are valued at about $1,000, police said.

Man Will Serve 4-20 Years for Killing Half-Brother

Cory James Maletsky pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter Thursday for fatally stabbing his half-brother Christopher Lloyd in South Whitehall.

Cory James Maletsky pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter Thursday for fatally stabbing his half-brother Christopher Lloyd in South Whitehall last September after a drunken brawl, according to online court documents. Under the plea, Maletsky, 24, could be sentenced between four and 20 years, according to The Morning Call. Police had said the half-brothers and two other men were drinking alcohol and watching TV around a fire pit at 1521 N. Leh St. "[Lloyd] had an unfortunate tendency to become aggressive when he's drinking a lot of hard alcohol," Assistant District Attorney Steve VanNatten said according to an article in The Express-Times. Laundry Detergent Dumped In Car, Police Say

The following information was provided by the South Whitehall Township Police Department: Criminal Mischief---A resident in the 2000 block of Ruth Street reported at 10:30 a.m. Monday that car doors were opened and laundry detergent was spilled inside the car, police said. Burglary---Jewelry was reported taken Monday from a residence in the 300 block of N. 41st Street. Fire---A garbage truck fire was reported at 2:55 p.m. Monday in the 2500 block of Mauch Chunk Road, police said. Theft---$65 was reported missing at 12:54 a.m. Sunday from a business in the 2000 block of Route 309, police said.

Driver on Cell Phone Causes Four-Car Accident, Injures Three

South Whitehall Police report a chain reaction accident on Cedar Crest Boulevard.

  Three people were hurt when a driver who said he was attempting to make a phone call caused a four-car accident in the 200 block of Cedar Crest Boulevard on Dec. 19 at 6:17 p.m. According to South Whitehall Township Police reports, Christopher K. Jameson, 25, of Reading, was driving south on Cedar Crest Boulevard when he hit a stopped car driven by David Dopkin, 38, of Whitehall.  Dopkin's car then hit the car stopped in front of it driven by Justin Haas, 26, of Allentown, which hit the car in front it, driven by Reem Haddad, 42, of Whitehall.  Jameson told police he didn't know how fast he was going and that he was trying to make a phone call at the time of the accident. Impressive Show at Greenawalds Fire/Rescue

Helicopter take-off and car dismantling all in a day's work at Greenawalds Fire/Rescue open house Saturday.

  Greenawalds Fire/Rescue hosted an impressive open house - with Lehigh Valley Health Network's MedEvac helicopter and a live demonstration of the jaws of life. The community had some fun Saturday afternoon as South Whitehall Police, Greenawalds Fire/Rescue and Cetronia Ambulance Corps showed off the equipment that helps them do their jobs. Firefighters demonstrated their jaws of life tools when they removed the doors and roof from a car and "rescued" an injured motorist - or in this case, a practice dummy. Even South Whitehall's K9 officer, Cirrus, made an appearance with Patrolman Kyle Golden. The open house was held to raise fire prevention and safety awareness during Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 7-13.
