South Whitehall Police report a chain reaction accident on Cedar Crest Boulevard.
Three people were hurt when a driver who said he was attempting to make a phone call caused a four-car accident in the 200 block of Cedar Crest Boulevard on Dec. 19 at 6:17 p.m. According to South Whitehall Township Police reports, Christopher K. Jameson, 25, of Reading, was driving south on Cedar Crest Boulevard when he hit a stopped car driven by David Dopkin, 38, of Whitehall. Dopkin's car then hit the car stopped in front of it driven by Justin Haas, 26, of Allentown, which hit the car in front it, driven by Reem Haddad, 42, of Whitehall. Jamel Hussein Lewis, 34, was accused of attempted homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment in court Tuesday.
During a preliminary hearing Tuesday afternoon, Jamel Hussein Lewis of Wellington, FLA had charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment held for Lehigh County Court action. Lewis allegedly chased Shane Gibbs and fired multiple shots on Dec. 4 in South Whitehall. The incident started after Gibbs had argued with his estranged wife at 2021 Focht Ave. According to LehighValleyLive.com Gibbs left the house after the argument and headed toward what he thought was a South Whitehall police car. He heard the front door slam behind him and turned to see Lewis come out of the house and start firing. On Nov. 24 at 11:42 a.m., Yolande Moriah called South Whitehall police to report a fight between her ex-husband, Forgild Moriah, and her brother, Donald Nathaniel Kelly, 21, at 4037 Cardinal Court. The police report says Forgild Moriah was there to pick up their daughter when Kelly "came around the house and threatened Moriah with a knife while saying he was going to mess him up." Police said the following happened: Once at the scene, they separated Moriah and Kelly who were face to face screaming at each other. While separated, Kelly would not listen to verbal commands nor physical contact to move away. Another officer arrived and both used force to keep Kelly away from Moriah.
