Should PA be a Right to Work State?
Michigan did it, why shouldn't Pennsylvania?
Gov. Corbett said earlier this week that Pennsylvania "lacks the political" will to pass a right-to-work bill similar to the one Michigan did and it would appear he's right. Despite the fact Pennsylvania, much like Michigan, has a Republican-controlled legislature and governor's office the subject hasn't even made it to a committee vote. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that PA Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, R-Butler, "has worked the Capitol hallways to make Pennsylvania a "right-to-work" state" for the past 14 years. Metcalfe told the Inquirer, "It's an uphill battle. Like pretty much any issue that threatens the power of the union bosses, it is quickly attacked and stifled."
