Ben, You are being a bit naive. Look at what is happening in Washington and the attacks onRead More individuals for their beliefs. People are afraid of being targeted. As you can see, people get quite ugly when others don't agree with them. They still want their voices heard and feel Patch s one such way.

Ben got in the arena, he voiced his opinion, and now when he is responded to the argument is that heRead More is 20. I campaigned for Bill Clinton when I was 19 and when I voiced my opinion I took the barbs in stride. The Republican voters, not Ben Long chose their nominee, so Mr. Long's issue is with them. If he cannot support their candidate, perhaps he is in the wrong party. Before we get into a food fight, it would be nice to see what each candidate says on the issues considering that is what matters here, and just because one candidate or another has a "radical" view on the Federal government's role does not amount to a hill of beans because this is a county election.

Republicans who disparage the Tea Party can't possibility be in stop with the mood of the largeRead More majority of the party. They simply espouse smaller government, mostly in the sphere of economics. If your are not for that you are not a Republican. I sure hope Patch opens its blogosphere to people of all political philosophies.

I contacted LVHN several months ago about volunteering with my son (8 years old) at the AndersonRead More campus. I would stay with him at all times and supervise him. I was told that they do not accept children. I think its a shame that the hospital will not accept him a a volunteer. I am trying to teach him how to give back to his community . Apparently the hospital does not want our help. I think several patients, especially older ones, would like getting assistance from a young child.

Tom, LVHN does not have an Anderson Campus. I believe you are referring to St Luke's Health Network.Read More LVHN is not able to accept volunteers under the age of 16 years old. There are many mandated reasons that young children are not allowed to volunteer in a hospital setting. Volunteering is a wonderful thing to teach your children. There are organizations in the Leigh Valley who are willing to utilize families. Please visit the Volunteer Center of the Leigh Valley for other opportunities in your area. www.volunteerlv.org
