Music Will Fill the Air at Parkland Schools: Your Week

Also, library hosts night at the movies and writers group, while TV's MythBusters come to Bethlehem.

Music will fill the air at many of the schools in the Parkland School District this week as an abundance of winter concerts are planned.

All of the following shows start at 7 p.m. on the night indicated:

·       Monday, Springhouse Middle School Band Winter Concert at Parkland High School.

·       Monday, Ironton’s 5th grade Band/Strings/Chorus Winter Concert.

·       Tuesday, Cetronia and Fogelsville 5th grade Band/Strings/Chorus Winter Concert at respective schools.

·       Wednesday, Jazz Band Winter Concert at Springhouse.

·       Wednesday, Kratzer 5th grade Band/Strings/Chorus Winter Concert.

·       Thursday, Parkland High School Orchestra/11th & 12th Grade Chorus/Chorale Winter Concert. Senior Citizen dinner precedes event in the cafeteria at 5:30 p.m.

Here is what else is going on in and near South Whitehall Township this week:

  • Also at the library: Writers Unite, a group for aspiring authors, meets Thursday at 7 p.m.
  • Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage, co-hosts of the Emmy-nominated Discovery Channel series MythBusters, bring a live-stage version their hit TV show to the stage at the Sands Bethlehem Event Center at 8 p.m. Thursday. The show will allow audience members to join Jamie and Adam on stage and assist in their mind-twisting and not always orthodox approach to science. Tickets are from $39.50 to $65.50.
