Vogt's Going Out of Business Sale: Wednesday

Also, meet your legislators, township commissioners meet and the culture of India explored in Bethlehem.

In case you hadn’t seen yet, Vogt’s Jewelers is going out of business after 110 years in the Allentown area—the last 25 at 3025 Tilghman St. in South Whitehall Township.

The “going out of business sale” starts today and runs through Saturday.

  • U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent, R-15, state Sen. Pat Browne, R-16, state Rep. Ryan Mackenzie, R-134, who each represent at least a portion, if not all of South Whitehall Township, will be among the legislators in attendance in a public “Meet Your Legislators” forum at the Penn State Lehigh Valley campus in Center Valley, starting at 1 p.m.
  • Township Commissioners hold their first regular meeting of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building.
  • The individual states of India have unique food, clothing styles, language, music, festivals and folk dances. Experience this diversity through a fashion show, dance and music at the Bethlehem Area Public Library at 6:30 p.m. The program will be presented by Prema Deshmukh, a New Delhi native who is now the program manager for the University of Pennsylvania Museum.
