Bites Nearby: Liu's House Asian & Sushi Cuisine
Colorful, meticulously arranged presentations are like artwork on a plate.
Offering lunch, dinner and take-out seven days a week from an easy-access location, House is a ready source for Asian cuisine and casual dining in South Whitehall. The menu features many typical Japanese and Chinese dishes, plenty of sushi and fresh hand-made rolls and some Thai options.
At lunch, one way to sample a full range of Asian flavors is with a Japanese lunch box ($8-$12). There are 10 varieties of teriyaki, tempura or sushi, and each also includes miso soup, salad, California roll, pot stickers and rice. Combinations specials, all about $5.50-$8, also include soup or egg roll and rice with the poultry, pork, beef, seafood or vegetable dishes.
On the dinner menu, just a few of Liu’s Specials are General Tso’s chicken, salmon with black bean sauce, Hong Kong steak and mango shrimp. Noodle dishes, with choice of protein or vegetables, can be prepared with lo mein, pad thai, wide rice noodles, angel hair rice noodles or fried rice.

At Liu’s, artistic presentation of the food on the plate adds an important visual dimension to the dining experience. The sushi especially, sold as appetizers or platters, treats the eyes as well as the palate. The relatively small dining room tends to fill up at peak times. Diners who phone ahead for take-out can enjoy the meals without the wait.
