Asbury's 4th Annual Chili Cookoff is Saturday
Some like it hot. Some like it vegetarian.
The fourth annual chili cookoff is Saturday, March 3, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at ’s Wesley Center, 1533 Springhouse Road. This year will be the third year that I will attend with my family, and every year the event gets better and better.
Not only is there a wide variety of chili dishes to sample, but there is also a fun factor in seeing the individual displays and the creativity that is put into them by the “cooks” and their helpers. This is a free will event, where donations are taken as votes for people-choice awards for the top three chili dishes from professionals and amateur chefs. Thirty-plus chili tastings will be available, so come hungry.
Be warned -- some of the hot chili can be very HOT!

This year there will be a special award for any guest who samples all 30 chilis. I am going for that one. In the past there has been a wide variety including vegetarian chili and some varieties that I honestly had to ask what was in there.
Come out Saturday evening, enjoy some good chili, meet some neighbors and donate to a good cause. The chili cookoff benefits “Athletes for Christ.”
