Q – Name of and Type of Business?

A – Doodie Calls, LLC; Pet Waste Cleanup Service

Q - Number of years in business?

A - Serving the entire Lehigh Valley and Southern Carbon County since May 2012.

Q - Address, phone number, website?

A- P.O. Box 33, Walnutport 18088; 610-533-8082; www.doodiecalls.us; denise@doodiecalls.us

Q – Number of employees?

A – Only me.

Q – What is your specialty?

A – I clean up pet waste for busy people, those who are not physically able, those recovering from major surgery and those who love their pet, but not the dirty cleanup task.  I also clean litter boxes for expectant mothers and people who are on vacation.  I welcome both residential and commercial customers.  No job is too big or too small.

Q – What or who is your biggest competitor and how do you provide better services/products?

A –   I am not aware of another company in the Lehigh Valley area that not only cleans up dog waste, but also cat litter boxes.  I feel this sets Doodie Calls apart from other pet-waste cleanup companies.  I also welcome requests for waste cleanup for other types of pets.

Q – What is your mission statement or philosophy behind running your business?

A -   Doodie Calls caters its services to clients’ needs.  Be it once a week, twice a week or one time cleanups, we are happy to design a cleanup plan specific to your request.   We care about our community, which is why we offer discounts to seniors, veterans and those who have adopted shelter or rescue pets.

Q – Can you share a story about your business? A triumph or obstacle you’ve overcome, perhaps?

A -   A client recently asked me for help.  She realized that her dog was not in the best of situations, and asked me to help find her dog a loving home.  Through my network of friends, clients and rescue contacts, we found her a wonderful home that same weekend.  I lost a client, but was able to help a dog in need.

Q – Is there a history regarding your business you’d like to share?

A - My professional background is in the engineering and technical field.  My previous company closed and the business was sent out of the country.  I thought it was the right time to start a business dealing with animals.  I have always wanted to work with animals, and decided that pet-waste cleanup can be outsourced.  From that idea, Doodie Calls was born.

Q – What are your plans for the future?

A -   My plans are to continue to clean up the Lehigh Valley, one back yard at a time.

Q - Do you have more than one location?

A - I have one location, but my business is completely mobile.  I travel to my customers.

Q – Is this a family owned/operated business?

A -  Yes.

Q – Is this a chain or franchise?

A -  No.

Q - Have you won any awards or had special recognition?

A - No, I have not.

Q - Did you receive any type of special funding to start up your business?

A - No I did not.

Q - Is there anything else you’d like to share about your business? History etc….

A - I have found that for many reasons, be it ailing health, physical disability, or a host of other reasons, there are people who are just not able to keep up with their pet-waste cleanup.  I want to help these people keep their pets and keep their yard or litter box clean.  It’s healthier for the family and for the pets.  It’s also perfectly fine for a person to be too busy to clean up or if they just don’t want to do it.  I can help those people too.  Doodie Calls offers gift certificates, in any amount, which are great gifts for the pet lovers in your family or neighborhood.

** Common Myth about dog waste:  It is not lawn fertilizer - it actually burns the lawn.
