Splitendz Salon Moves Into South Whitehall

Owner Debbie Pulaski opens doors to full-service salon, with decorative touches described as "Zen-like."

Much like her customers who come in search of the latest hair styles, Debbie Pulaski wanted a change.

So she has moved her salon -- Splitendz -- 10 blocks west, from Allentown to 3017 Tilghman St., South Whitehall, next to Vogt Jewelers.

“It’s a better location, more accessible and easier for clients to find,” Pulaski said early this month as staff continued with renovations. “I felt there could be better growth here.”

The salon’s services will remain the same, hair cuts and color, as well as spa favorites, such as manicures, pedicures, facials and massages.

Changing along with the location are the decorative touches. Furniture was moved, walls painted warm peach and café au lait, and tiles and sinks installed in a style designer Amy Coleman described as “Zen-like,” bright yet calming.

New pedestal pedicure stations permit clients to relax against furry cushions while watching a busier world pass by.

“I want customers to feel special yet comfortable and relaxed,” the owner said.

Pulaski gives much credit to those who are helping her make the transition, including carpenter Tom Gordon.

“I have 22 fabulous, talented employees who work seven days a week,” she said.
