10 Luxury Homes Proposed In Deep West End

30 West, a private enclave of luxury homes, has been proposed on two vacant lots off the 3100 block of W. Washington Street on the South Whitehall and West Allentown border.

A developer has submitted plans to build 10 luxury homes on two wooded lots between N. 30th Street and Cedar Crest Boulevard on the South Whitehall and West Allentown border.

The owner, Elysium Acquisitions LLC, has already begun clearing the land in the 3100 block of Washington Street and N. Marshall Street for the development, called 30 West, which has not yet been approved.

Elysium will present a sketch plan of 30 West at the South Whitehall Township Planning Commission's Aug. 15 meeting.

The plans describe the development as "a private enclave of luxurious homes quietly nestled in South Whitehall's deep West End."

Under the plan, five single-family homes would be built in the unopened 700 block of N. Marshall Street. The street would be extended and made into a cul-de-sac. North 31st Street would also be extended to accommodate five single-family homes on a cul-de-sac off Washington Street. Part of the area is zoned low density residential and neighborhood commercial.

The lots would range between 8,669 square feet and 14,359 square feet.
