Where's Larry?

Larry has 40 years experience in the insurance industry and has been a Sales Executive at the John Yurconic Agency for the past 5 years.

It’s been several weeks since I wrote a blog about my travels. I have been tied up with family issues and a really bad viral infection, but I am back and ready to report on some new places of interest. This past weekend Alice and I traveled to Shawnee on the Delaware, PA.  A quaint little village in the Poconos, but far from quiet.

Shawnee has a festival of some kind almost every month of the year. From the Pocono Garlic Festival in September to the Autumn Timber Festival in October. Plenty of great restaurants to suit any appetite. A point of interest you cannot miss. Compton’s Pancake House for breakfast. “Home of the Double Triple Play”, 2 Pancakes, 2 Eggs, 2 Strips of bacon, 2 Sausage Links, Home Fries and Toast for ONLY $3.65. Unbelievable!!

One of the highlights of our weekend stay in Shawnee was attending a Play at the Shawnee Play House. We saw an excellent play starring local and national talent. The production was “Tiny Tim’s Christmas Carol”, a takeoff from the Dickens Christmas Carol. What a well done show in the smallest theater I have even been in. The seating capacity is about 50-60 seats. After the show we went to the GEM and Keystone Pub for dinner and sampled some interesting crafted beers brewed at the Pub. Our trip would have not been complete without visiting Mt Airy Lodge for a little gaming at the Casino. We actually managed to win a little before heading for Home.
