Kathleen M. Herring, 70, Lucent Technologies Worker

Kathleen M. Herring, 70, of Wescosville, passed away Friday at home with her family by her side. She was the wife of Guy A. Herring Sr. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on July 1, 2012.

Born in Summit Station, she was a daughter of the late Howard M. and Ina A. (Long) Fessler. Kathleen worked for Lucent Technologies for 27 years before retiring in 1998. She was a member of Hope United Church of Christ, Allentown. She was a Phillies fan and enjoyed camping and spending time with her family.

Survivors: Husband; son, Guy A. Jr. and his wife, Wanda, of Kutztown; daughter, Aletha M. Schade and her husband, Larry of Allentown; brother, Howard and his wife, Carolyn of Schuylkill Haven; sister, Shirley J. Deibert of Auburn; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Guy III and his wife, Jenna,  Melanie, Tabitha and Spencer; sister-in-law, Betty Fessler. A brother, James S. and brother-in-law, Harold Deibert predeceased her.  

Service: 10:00 am Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Trexler Funeral Home 1625 Highland St., Allentown. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown. Calling hours, 7:00 to 8:30 pm Monday and 9:00 to 10:00 am Tuesday in the funeral home.  www.trexlerfuneralhome.com
