Services Announced For Parkland Bus Driver Killed In Crash

Kelly E. Smith, 42, died Monday in Upper Macungie. A memorial service is Friday.

Kelly E. Smith, 42, of Slatington, died Monday April 18, 2011, in Upper Macungie Township.

She was the wife of Kenneth A. Smith Jr. They celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary last May.

Born in Allentown, May 25, 1968, she was a daughter of Herman J. Williams II and Carol A. (Ferry) Williams of Slatington.

She graduated from Northern Lehigh High School in 1986. Kelly was a school bus driver for Parkland School District for the past 12 years. She was previously employed as a day care worker for Park Avenue Day Care, Neffs, and a longtime member of St. Johns United Church of Christ, Howertown.

Kelly's greatest love was her daughter, Jennifer, and all the wonderful children from her daily bus routes.

Survivors: Loving husband; parents; daughter, Jennifer L. Pollitt of Slatington; brothers, Matthew D. Williams of Orefield and Herman J. Williams III and his wife Gina of Slatington; sister, Bonnie M. Cougle of Orefield; mother-in-law, Margaret E. Smith of Whitehall; numerous aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews. 

Services: Memorial, 6 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2011 at St. John's United Church of Christ -Howertown, Weaversville and Atlas Roads, Northampton. The Rev. Cliff Herring will be officiating. A celebration of Kelly's life will be held at the church fellowship hall, immediately following the service.

Arrangements by Hunsicker Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3438 Route 309, Orefield, PA 18069-2418. 

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the National Breast Cancer Foundation Inc., c/o of the funeral home.
