Early Dismissal in Parkland, Snow Emergency in South Whitehall

Parkland Schools announce early dismissal and other after school cancellations and South Whitehall Township declares a snow emergency from noon today until 6 p.m. Feb. 9


Parkland School District will dismiss early today due to inclement weather. All after school activities are canceled as well as any Saturday morning activities. In addition, South Whitehall Township Manager Jon Hammer has declared a snow emergency for South Whitehall.

Dismissal schedule is as follows:

Parkland High School and middle schools will dismiss at 12 noon today, Feb. 8.

Parkland Elementary Schools will dismiss at 12:45 p.m. today.

Athletic Update
As of Friday morning, Spring Sport Physicals on Saturday, Feb. 9, have been moved to start at 12 noon as follows: boys, noon - 2 p.m., girls, 2 - 4 p.m.

ImPACT Tests in the high school library times have been rescheduled to occur from noon - 3:30 p.m.

All district and non-district activities after school today, tonight, and Saturday morning through 12 noon are canceled.  Please check Parkland's web site on Saturday morning for further updates as to when we will  re-open buildings and an update on activities scheduled for Saturday afternoon or evening. 

Physicals and ImPACT tests may be postponed to a later date depending on the weather outcome and the amount of time it takes to clean up snow. 

The GEO Club Electronics Recycling Drive, Parkland High School has been rescheduled until, March 2, 9 a.m. – 12 noon due to weatherconerns. GEO will collect anything with a plug up to the size of a TV. They will not be collecting batteries or other items with toxic or regulated substances like refrigerators with freon.
