Police Blotter: People Injured in Separate Accidents

The following information was supplied by the South Whitehall police department.

According to South Whitehall police, the following accidents were among those that occurred in the township from Feb. 25 to March 2:

* Four people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Thursday, March 1, in the 3800 block of Hamilton Boulevard. The accident happened at 11:22 p.m., South Whitehall police said. The vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Additional information was not immediately available.

* One person was injured Thursday, March 1, in a two-vehicle crash on the 309 ramp to Tilghman Street. The accident happened at 10:27 p.m. Additional information was not immediately available.

* Three people were injured in a three-vehicle crash at Tilghman Street and Parkway at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28.  

According to information in a police report, Dawn Steigerwalt, 67, of Allentown, told police the sun was in her eyes as she traveled on Tilghman Street, and by the time she recovered, she had struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Mary Boensch, 42, of Coopersburg, who was stopped for a red light. Boensch then hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Kimberless Greenleaf, 41, of Breinigsville, who was also stopped for the light.

The drivers of each of the vehicles complained of head and neck pain and were taken to a hospital by Cetronia EMS, according to the police report.

All vehicles were towed from the scene. 

* One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash at Winchester and Springhouse roads at 10:13 a.m. on Feb. 26. Additional information was not immediately available.

* One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at Route 309 and Tighman Street, at 4:32 a.m. on Feb. 24.

According to a police report, Tovah Roethlein, 32, of Summit Hill, said she was travelling southbound on Route 309 when she swerved to avoid a vehicle that had moved into her lane. Roethlein's vehicle struck a guardrail.

She was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, according to the report.
