South Whitehall Police: North Whitehall Man Crashes and Flips Car, Doesn't Remember who was Driving

South Whitehall police report a North Whitehall Township man driving on Jordan Road hit a cement pipeline marker which caused his car to flip onto its roof and his passenger to be ejected.

 

On Dec. 1 at 2:35 a.m. police report the driver of a car travelling west on Jordan Rd. lost control around the curve near 2510 Jordan Rd., crashed into a cement pipeline marker and flipped his car onto its roof.

Police identified the driver as Brandon Gruber, 21, of 3012 Beddall St. in Slatington, although Gruber told police he just left the Pig Pen in Allentown and was unsure of who was driving.

A passenger, whom police identified as Jeremy Kegaris, 20, of 6531 Bake Oven Rd. in Green Lane told police Gruber was driving and both had left the PigPen. The car was a 1999 Ford F35 registered to Gruber.

When police arrived at the scene Kegaris was in the roadway and Gruber was standing over him. The report says Kegaris told police he didn't know how he got in the middle of the road. Police surmised Kegaris was thrown from the car upon impact.

A witness to the accident told police the driver was traveling west on Route 22 when Gruber's Ford passed him doing at least 100 mph.

Cetronia Ambulance transported Kegaris to Lehigh Valley Health Network but Gruber refused treatment.

Police suspect alcohol was involved and a blood alcohol test was given to Gruber.
