South Whitehall Woman Joins Lehigh County Commissioner Race

Fourteen candidates are running for Lehigh County commissioner seats in May 21 primary, according to an unofficial voter registration list.

Susan Ellis Wild, a Democrat from South Whitehall, is running for a Lehigh County Commissioner seat from District 2, according to an unofficial voter registration list.

District 2 includes South Whitehall, Lower Macungie, Upper Macungie and Alburtis.

Wild would square off in the November election against the winner of the Republican primary for the District 2 seat. Incumbent Percy Dougherty, of Lower Macungie, and Scott Aquila, also of Lower Macungie, are candidates in the Republican primary for the seat.

The most competitive field is District 5, which has four Republicans running for one seat in the primary and two Democrats running for one seat in its party's primary.
