Parkland OKs Three Hires and One Resignation

The Parkland School Boardapproved the following hires, resignations and other personnel matters at its most recent meeting:

• Resignation: Tara Grather, second grade teacher at Cetronia Elementary School, effective August 27, 2013.
  
  
• Hires: Mandy L. Sommer, Northampton, Pa., as a second grade teacher at Cetronia Elementary School, at an annual salary of $49,921, effective August 27, 2013.  Ms. Sommer is recommended as a temporary professional employee to replace Tara Grather, who resigned.
• Errol V. Barnes, Emmaus, PA, as a full-day school bus driver, effective August 21, 2013, at a daily rate as per the negotiated contract, replacing Edwin Kichline, who retired.

• Barry Laube, Emmaus, Pa., as a full-day school bus driver, effective August 21, 2013, at a daily rate as per the negotiated contract, replacing Lorie Kerr, who resigned.

• Recall of Furloughed Personnel: Christina Meitzler, Topton, Pa., as a part-time custodian at Springhouse Middle School, effective August 26, 2013, at an hourly rate as per the negotiated contract, replacing Richard Fogelman, who retired.

• Request for Leave of Absence: Dawn M. Bray, first grade teacher at Ironton Elementary School, through the end of the 2013-2014 school year.
