Cesareo Manansala
I'm quite literally from all over. I was born in the Philippines in 1983, but haven't been back for over 27 years (until in 2011 when I ventured to the homeland for a 2-week vacation/sojourn). Since my 1st birthday, I've lived in the Big Apple for a better part of my youth (roughly a decade), and lived in the Lehigh Valley towards my adolesence.
My young adult life came a'callin' when I attended Penn State University, earning my BA in Journalism in the summer of 2005. Since then, I've traipsed back and forth from New York, NY back to Allentown, writing the news for various publications in both cities, before settling for the all-seeing eye called "The Patch"! Aside from freelance news reportage, I also perform grant-writing responsibilities for assorted non-profit organizations. I go to sleep at night knowing that my writing prowess would actually help some poor, disadventaged person somewhere. In my spare time, I enjoy hanging with my family and friends (including my old PSU posse), working out in the gym, and watching movies. Many folks know my reputation as a film buff, especially classic movies from the 60s and 70s. I'm a self-processed Western buff, engrossing myself in the directorial films of Sergio Leone, Sam Peckinpah, John Sturges, and other luminaries of frontier movies. Currently, I am writing my own screenplays, with one being a Western. I must also include that my 2nd favorite movie of all time is "All the President's Men." Has there been any other film out there, that portrays the power of the news media more than this? The investigative adventures of Woodward and Bernstein, and their search for the utmost truth, was what got me in to this particular industry in the first place!
